Since I am pretty sure that I am now done camping for the remainder of the year after spending this past weekend near Moab, I’ll go ahead and post up my total nights spent camping under the stars in 2018. I had originally set a goal for myself of trying to camp at least 60 nights this year, but I quickly saw that I was going to blow past that number, so I adjusted the goal to 75 nights mid-way through the year and was still able to surpass that objective. I’m very happy to report that I have spent 80 nights camping this year which is my all-time record! Up until this year my highest number was 50 nights, which I did back in 2014. I was also able to camp more than once during each and every month of the year, too. I’m not going to lie, I really have no interest in trying to beat this number next year, so I’m sure I won’t come close in 2019, but I can assure you that I will try to have another amazing year spent in the backcountry!
