Valley of Fire

Las Vegas Trip 2012
Thursday, March 15, 2012

Even though a full day was nowhere near enough time to explore the whole park, we managed to see a lot and took many photos.

Bonanza!

Colorado Adventure 2010 | Day 2
Thursday, August 26, 2010

“Boy, she’s a bonanza!”

Those were the words a prospector shouted two miles upstream from Bonanza. That’s how the town got its name….and Bonanza would be my destination for the second day of my adventure. This town’s population jumped quickly to around 5,000 in 1880, and those people left just as fast in 1890. I would be exploring the roads that they once traveled and would stop to check out the old mining relics along the way.

The Great Sand Dunes

Friday – Sunday, April 30 – May 2, 2010

After getting a taste of The Great Sand Dunes last August, she wanted to head back while Medano Creek was flowing. Since she ended up having Friday off from work, I ended up taking the day off as well, and we made our way down to Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve.
