Before I get into the main top ten list, I wanted to highlight this local hike along the Wedding Canyon Loop from late September in the Colorado National Monument. Although this is a hike that I have done many times before, this time it was under special circumstances. I didn’t mention it in the Trip Report at the time, but this was the last opportunity that Diane and I had to hike together before her brain surgery in early October, and there was a real possibility that this could have been the last time we hiked together, ever! This is one of Diane’s favorite trails and she picked this hike because it’s also the first hike we went on together when we first started dating. We were lucky to have some special atmospheric conditions this morning and I am very glad it turned out not to be our last hike together!
