Blue Lakes & Waterfalls

Saturday, July 24, 2010

On Saturday, Amanda and I headed a little south to Ouray and then proceeded up Camp Bird Road and into Yankee Boy Basin. Our destination was to hike to Blue Lakes Pass so that I could scout out the route up Mount Sneffels along the way for a future hike/climb.

I was planning on stopping and hiking to Twin Falls for some close-up photos, but when we got back there it started to storm pretty good. Instead of stopping there we headed up Imogene Basin a little ways. When we reached some of the waterfalls the rain finally let up, so I was able to take a few more photos there.

After taking these photos we headed back into Ouray and grabbed some burgers from Cafe Ouray which were pretty good. After dinner we headed back home. It was a great way to spend half-a-tank of gas 🙂
