First off, let me say that driving West of Denver on I-70 on a Saturday morning during ski season is a bad idea. Traffic was terrible!!! I got up early this morning and left my friend’s apartment in Denver around 7:00am to start my drive over to Moab. Aside from the very heavy traffic the drive was not too bad. This was actually my first trip on that stretch of I-70 without pulling a trailer behind me, which made the drive a little easier!

After spending all day Saturday exploring Shawnee National Forest, Amanda and I drove down to Cairo so that we could visit Illinois’ most Southern point and the confluence of the Ohio River and Mississippi River. There’s a nice park located right there.

For the last day of my long two week trip I took a drive though Badlands National Park on my way home. It was a gloomy day, but here’s a few photos.

Today I started the day by checking out part of the Wind River Range in Shoshone National Forest. Here’s a few pictures from my morning there.
