After leaving Yellowstone National Park through it’s South Entrance on Saturday morning it was time to start our drive back home, but since we would be driving through Grand Teton National Park for the first time we decided to spend a few hours in the park stopping at overlooks and viewpoints along the way and even going on a couple of short hikes. Unfortunately, there was still a lot of smoke in the air from wildfires and the hazy light during our late morning and early afternoon visit was pretty terrible, so these are just some snapshots I took during our brief visit to the park. Maybe it’s because we drove through on a Saturday, but I was a bit shocked at how busy this park was! I was expecting Yellowstone to be packed with people, and aside from the popular geyser basins it wasn’t as bad as I envisioned, but Grand Teton was what I was expecting Yellowstone to be like with vehicles lining both side of the roads and overfilled parking lots and trailheads.

Our final stop in the park was at the Moulton Barn along Mormon Row.
After leaving Mormon Row we headed south through Jackson and then followed the Hoback River east to Pinedale. We stopped to grab a burger for dinner and then continued on to Rock Springs where we spent the night before finishing up the drive back home on Sunday morning.

Your photos and detail are beautiful as always!
I was born in Kalispell, MT and lived in Lakeside next to the lake (years before you were born:) Lived in Glenwood Springs for 50+ years, now in Loma. Those areas were and still are favorites of my family to visit.
If you haven’t been to Glacier NP you should go. We had a small family get together there a couple of months ago. The hikes we did were wonderful and because of the influence the Pacific has on the climate, the plants, trees and moss were beautiful. It also snowed (we went the third week in June) the first day we were there up on Going to the Sun Road and rained on us during our hike around Lake McDonald. This closed the GTTSR but it opened two days after and was a spectacular drive.
Thank you again, I enjoy all of your photos and details of your adventures.
