After exploring and photographing Shay Canyon for a while, I continued my search in Indian Creek Canyon to see if I could find some more petroglyphs.

After taking some photos at Newspaper Rock, I headed over to explore Shay Canyon. This was my first visit to this canyon and I knew there should be many petroglyphs found here. I was not disappointed! I spent a while here hiking along the canyon wall searching for and photographing the many petroglyphs I found along the way.

On Saturday while I was in Moab, I got a message from my friend Rick. He wanted to get out of the house on Sunday and wanted to know if I wanted to tag along. He told me that he was interested in visiting Cave 7 in the winter, so I jumped at the opportunity and told him I would definitely go with! Bright and early on Sunday morning I picked him up and headed towards Blanding, topped off the fuel tank and made our way to Cave 7.

Amanda had to work on Sunday, so I was on my own to find something to do. As I have been doing lately, I decided to head back to Moab in search of some more rock art. On my drive to Moab down the Colorado River Road, I was treated to an excellent sunrise. I just had to pull over and get a photo.

After my detour into the Book Cliffs I was back on the road towards Moab for the rest of the day. The Colorado River Road was covered with snow so I didn’t make as good of time as I usually do, but I did stop for a few photos in Professor Valley on the way…
