Our plan for Saturday was to drive from the Snake Gulch trailhead to Bluff, Utah. We would be going through Page, AZ and making a few stops along the way. When we arrived in Bluff our plans were to search for some new rock art and then to setup camp along Comb Ridge somewhere. In the end we didn’t stick to that final plan.

Amanda and I headed up to the Grand Mesa for a few hours this afternoon. There was a ton of new snow up there and it was still coming down hard. The wind was blowing pretty good, too. Before heading back down we did stop at the Union Cafe for some burgers.

On Sunday we headed south to Telluride so we could ride the Gondola and check out Mountain Village. After that we stopped at the Union Cafe in Ridgway for some delicious burgers, and then we headed up to Coal Creek to check out some more fall colors. Amanda’s mom and sister spent the last two weeks with us here in Grand Junction. While they were here we spent some time showing them around not only here, but also in Moab, Silverton and Ouray….to name a few places. Here’s some random photos I took while we were out and about….

This last Thursday was Amanda’s birthday, so she got to choose where we went last weekend. After getting a taste of The Great Sand Dunes last August, she wanted to head back while Medano Creek was flowing. Since she ended up having Friday off from work, I ended up taking the day off as well, and we made our way down to Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve.
