Went out and did a little local exploring for a few hours today. I headed up through Fruita and into Coal Gulch and took that up onto Ross Ridge. I initially passed the turnoff for Coal Gulch and had to turn around, but I did find a side trail I am going to have to research and head back to checkout.

Unfortunately since Amanda has to work on the holiday, we only had a normal weekend to go exploring, but we managed to make the most of it. After heading out after work and driving straight through to Blanding, where we filled up with gas, we made it to Comb Wash campground and managed to setup camp right before it started raining. We knew there might be a chance of rain, but it actually ended up raining all night….and pretty hard, too.

After our day in Arches National Park and a good nights sleep last Saturday, we headed out Sunday to run the trail that Amanda chose for the day, and then did a little more exploring. Since Amanda chose Hurrah Pass, heading to the end of Chicken Corners was a natural choice. But I also wanted to check out the Jackson Hole trail as well. We had plenty of time to squeeze all of that in, and still made it home to Junction by 5pm!

On Saturday, Amanda and I spent the day at Arches National Park to do some wheeling, hiking, and sight-seeing. She had never been there before and wanted to go for her birthday.
