IntrepidXpedition 2007 | Day 16
Friday, August 3, 2007
Today I started the day by checking out part of the Wind River Range in Shoshone National Forest. Here’s a few pictures from my morning there.
Fiddlers Lake scenery.
The Little Popo Agie River.
A view over Louis Lake.
Another photo with the moon…this time over my Jeep.
After leaving the Wind Rivers I made my way over to South Pass City near the historic route over South Pass. Not many people live here anymore…
I also took a short drive through nearby Red Canyon before continuing my journey further east.
Even though the road was paved, it was a nice drive through Ten Sleep Canyon and the Bighorn National Forest.
The sky didn’t cooperate with me here since it had just rained and the sun was out causing it to become a bit hazy, but I did stop by Devil’s Tower before crossing into South Dakota.
Once I reached South Dakota and the Black Hills, I decided to spend the night in Sturgis.
