IntrepidXpedition 2007 | Day 13
Tuesday, July 31, 2007
This morning I started out by heading west on I-70 through the San Rafael Reef and up onto the San Rafael Swell.
Coming up to the San Rafael Reef with the moon above (it’s there if you look closely).
Once on the Swell I made my way over to Eagle Canyon. Driving under I-70 through a small culvert with just enough room 😉
Driving back under I-70 again…this time under the large bridges spanning Eagle Canyon.
When I left Eagle Canyon I made a stop at Swasey’s Cabin.
It was a good place to fuel up again.
From Swasey’s Cabin I started heading north on the Buckhorn Wash Road past Bottleneck Peak.
Then I stopped at the old suspension bridge over the San Rafael River.
A little further up Buckhorn Wash I came across the impressive Barrier Canyon Style pictographs along the road.
Then I made my way to The Wedge with a great view over Utah’s Little Grand Canyon.
While following the Green River Cutoff back to the highway, I passed a section of the old Spanish Trail.
When I reached US 6, I turned left and and headed further north to Price for the night.
