It’s been a while since I headed up to the Colorado National Monument after work to catch a sunset, so after all the rain we’ve had in the past few days I thought it might be a good idea to head up there this evening since the storms had finally started to clear.
I liked the light on the cliffs above the sign as I entered the park.
Balance Rock on the right with a nicely lit canyon wall on the left. The sky isn’t too bad either!
Looking down on Rim Rock Drive in Fruita Canyon.
I decided to make the short hike out to the canyon rim near Window Rock.
Independence Monument viewed through the arch of a Juniper tree.
A beautiful sunset over Monument Canyon.
A touch of light on Independence Monument.
Nice clouds and soft light.
Looking west as the bottom of these clouds are lit up with warm light.
One more view over the Grand Valley before I hiked back to my Jeep and drove home for the evening.
