Amanda and I spent the day yesterday with my sister and her husband. We started out in the morning hiking at the Colorado National monument and then we took a drive over the Grand Mesa. It rained a lot during the day, but luckily it seemed that every time we were out side hiking or doing something else, we got lucky and the rain was stopped. I didn’t end up taking many photos, but here’s a few that I did take…

On Saturday I headed to the San Juan’s for a day trip. My goal was to explore a few trails along the Hurricane Pass trail that I had not been down before. The weather wasn’t the best as the skies were full of clouds most of the day. I even had a little off and on again rain and snow.

For Labor Day Andrew, Amanda and I spent a few hours on the Colorado River near Moab. We put in at Hittle Bottom and took out at Takeout Beach. The water was pretty low and slow…plus there was a little wind up the canyon, so Andrew and I had to take turns rowing in order to keep moving at a reasonable speed. In the end, it took us about 6 hours to make it to Takeout Beach. It was a good workout and we had fun along the way, too.
