Moab Area Rock Art XIX | Sunday, January 15, 2012
On Sunday I drove back to Moab to meet up with Marty again to do a little more exploring. I didn’t have any plans for the day in mind when I left home, so I thought we could just figure things out as we went. We ended up hiking an area within Arches National Park that I had not visited before. It was a nice area with some great views along the way. We even managed to come across a new petroglyph panel as we explored the area.

Sunday & Monday, September 5-6, 2010
This past Labor Day Weekend Amanda had to unfortunately work on Sunday and Monday, so I was on my own. I figured that I would head back to The Henry Mountains to complete some of the trails that were blocked by snow on our last trip, plus do a little hiking to the top of Mount Ellen. This Veteran’s Day I wanted to check out the Copper Ridge trail. I have been on bits and pieces of this trail before, but have never done the whole thing in one shot before. I made my way to Moab and topped off my tank before heading north out of town and turning onto the old highway just opposite of the Gemini Bridges Road. I followed the old highway for about a mile and a half before turning left at the start of the Copper Ridge trail. The trail follows along part of the Bar M Loop at this point.

Friday was my day to lead a trail. I had volunteered to lead the Klondike Bluffs trail earlier this year for the event. A few weeks earlier Amanda and I had come down to Moab and pre-ran this trail along with the alternate exit along Copper Ridge that I took so that I could get it into my GPS. The Klondike Bluffs trail is not a difficult trail and the group we had was not as big as I was expecting, so we were planning on finishing a bit early this day so that everyone would have some time to relax before heading to the big dinner and raffle in town that night.

Amanda and I headed to Moab this weekend so that I could pre-run the trail I am leading in October for the 25th Anniversary event and get it into my GPS.
