Well, I have a permit for Paria Canyon and was supposed to start a backpacking trip from White House to Lee’s Ferry on Friday, but it looks like we are going to be changing those plans now. I had no idea what kind of winter we would have when I got these permits back in December. With the ongoing search and rescue mission in the area, high water, more rain in the forecast, cool temperatures and one death already, it seems like we should probably stay clear for now. I do think it’s BS that you can’t reschedule because of weather, though. Here’s an updated article about the situation in Buckskin Gulch on KSL.
