ADVENTR Photo Galleries
A little while back I noticed that all the photo galleries on the site were broken and not working properly, but I didn't have the time to fix them until just recently. I also changed the software that powers them and made them better at the same time, so if
Ten Million Views on Flickr
I just noticed that my Flickr account hit 10 million views today! The last time I posted an update was when it reached 5 million views back in 2018, so I probably won't mention it again until it reaches 20 million...
Narrow Ledge Panel
This Classic Vernal Style petroglyph panel is one of my favorites, so I guess that's why I climbed out onto the narrow ledge a second time for some better photos. I doubt I will be doing that again!

After spending the night at the Rainbow Park Campground we caught some fog and fall colors in Island Park at Dinosaur National Monument.

Brocken Spectre (Glory) Photos
What is a Brocken Spectre? A Brocken Spectre, also called Brocken Bow, Mountain Spectre, or Spectre of the Brocken is the magnified shadow of an observer cast upon clouds opposite the Sun's direction. The figure's head is often surrounded by the halo-like rings of colored light forming a Glory, which
2021 Summits & Highpoints
After spending Saturday morning on the Grand Mesa, I'm now ready to start turning my attention back to the Colorado Plateau and I'm pretty sure I won't be hiking any more peaks in the mountains this year. At the beginning of the summer I had set myself a modest goal
Southern Sawatch Morning
A beautiful Sunday morning in the Southern Sawatch Mountains.
An Evening at Slide Lake
Rain, smoke, clouds, snow and a lot more rain! That was the theme of our visit to the Wind Rivers this year, turning our planned 3-night backpacking trip into a short overnighter as we waited out the weather for much of the time. At least we had one nice sunset

A few stats that Flickr sent over today that I thought were interesting.
My Favorite Rock Art & Ruins Photos of 2020

My Ten Favorite Photos of 2020
To be honest, I really wasn't planning on making a favorite photos list for last year since I didn't feel very inspired for much of the year and didn't feel like I took many good images anyways. However, there were a few photos that I didn't want getting lost to
My Ten Favorite Trip Reports of 2020
It's the last day of the year, so I think now is a good time to look back and choose my ten favorite trip reports from 2020. Obviously, 2020 was a much different year for everyone which changed some of my plans earlier in the year, but overall I still
Year in Concerts 2020
This is the time of the year I usually make a post highlighting all of the amazing concerts we went to throughout the year, but this year is obviously going to be different since the COVID-19 pandemic shut down all concerts for the rest of the year starting in mid-March.
Arches of 2020
I visited a lot of great and interesting arches and natural bridges this year. Some I had been to before, but a lot of them were new and pretty local to me. I thought it would be fun to share photos of some of my favorites! Perseverance Arch Will Minor
Bag Night Challenge 2020
Since I am pretty sure that I'm now done camping for the rest of the year, I’ll go ahead and post up my total nights spent camping in 2020. While we had to cancel and change a number of our planned trips, especially in the spring, I am pretty happy
Campsites of 2020
While 2020 didn't quite go as planned and I had a number of trips that were either cancelled or changed, especially in the spring, I still managed to get out quite a bit and spent 70 nights camping under the stars, which I am pretty happy about! Here are a

The Citadel
It's been over 11 years since the last time I visited The Citadel on Cedar Mesa, and even though I had no desire to return again for myself, I did want Diane to see these ruins at least once. So we visited on the evening of Thanksgiving hoping that it
