Big Agnes Copper Spur UL3 mtnGLO

Bullet Canyon Camp

We just got back from a 3 day backpacking trip into Grand Gulch over the weekend and finally got to try out our new Big Agnes Copper Spur UL3 mtnGLO tent. So far I am very happy with this tent. Not only is it almost a full pound lighter than our previous 2-person backpacking tent, there is also plenty more room inside for both of us and our gear. It was a much more comfortable backpacking experience than in our 2-person tent. Setup was just as quick and easy as it is with my Copper Spur UL1 tent that I use when I’m alone since they are of a similar design. There are also plenty of pockets inside to help keep your small items organized at night. While we didn’t really use the lights much on this trip since we were falling asleep shortly after sunset, I did try them out in the middle of the the night once and they seem to be a nice addition. I liked the tent so much I think I’m going to be bringing it on my San Juan River trip in a few weeks.

The photo above was taken on our second night near the confluence of Bullet Canyon and Grand Gulch.
