My Six Favorite Trip Reports of 2015

Continuing my annual tradition, I have selected a few of my favorite trip reports from 2015 and shared them below. I went on a lot of great trips this year so it was difficult to only choose a few, but these trip reports really stood out the most to me. Enjoy!

One of my most memorable trips to North Coyote Buttes in northern Arizona. Not only were we the very first visitors to The Wave in 2015, we got to see it covered in a few inches of fresh snow. What an adventure!

Visiting new and old ancient sites on Cedar Mesa is always enjoyable, but I finally got to visit a complete pot on this trip which was the icing on the cake!

An easy overnight backpacking trip into the heart of the Uncompahgre Wilderness with awesome scenery and a nice sunset to top it off.

On this trip I visited an area of the Uncompahgre Wilderness that I’ve wanted to explore for years. The Big Blue Creek drainage is a great place to spend a holiday weekend without the crowds.

A nice three day backpacking trip in Grand Gulch with Diane in the spring…what could be better?

Even though this trip didn’t have a great start during the drive down, it turned out to be one of my more memorable river trips, even when we were battling stormy weather.
