The purpose of this post is a send off to my trusty Osprey Atmos 65 backpack. I purchased my Osprey Atmos 65 in 2012 and have loved it ever since. This backpack has taken me to some amazing places over the years and carried my gear comfortably. Unfortunately, the pack is now falling apart from use and my trip into Chimney Canyon is going to be its last. When I started looking for a new backpack earlier this year I had originally planned to purchase a brand new Atmos 65 AG, however after trying one on with the new AG (Anti-Gravity) suspension I found that it just doesn’t fit me well at all, which was a bit disappointing.
After giving up on the Atmos 65 AG I started looking around at other packs and was not having much luck finding one I liked, but then I checked out the Gregory Baltoro 65 and found a backpack that had all the features of the Atmos that I liked, and then some! It also fit me very well (I have a long torso) and maybe fit me even better than my Atmos ever did. I can’t wait to try it out early next year!
I sure hope this Gregory backpack is up to the task because I have a lot of backpacking trips still to come!
