I just got home from spending a few days in the Wind Rivers, and catching the total solar eclipse earlier today in Elkhart Park was definitely the highlight of the trip! Here’s a quick edit of a photo until I have more time to go through the rest. Stay tuned for the full trip report!
After work this afternoon, Diane and I are heading up to the Wind Rivers for our very first backpacking trip there, and then we hope to catch the total eclipse on Monday before heading back home. I know it’s going to be busy up there, but I think it will be worth it this time…
Photos when I return, of course!
The sun peeks through a break in the clouds reflected in a small tarn in the alpine tundra of the San Juan Mountains near Animas Forks.
Sunrise on Lone Cone in the San Juan Mountains as I stopped at an overlook on my climb to the summit Sunday morning.
A view of Houghton Mountain (13,052) at sunset on Friday evening near Animas Forks. I would hike to its summit the following morning.
