Exploring Plateau Creek

Sunday, February 6, 2011

This afternoon my friend Jackson and I spent a few hours exploring the Plateau Creek area of the Grand Mesa. I wanted to check out a new rock art panel, and he was in search of some birds to photograph. Here’s a few photos I took as we explored the area.

This is the full petroglyph panel that we visited.

One of the more interesting figures found on the panel.

After checking out the petroglyphs, we were visited by some bighorn sheep high above us.

I believe this was a Robin.

This guy just stared at us from behind the fence along the road.

I think Jackson said this was a Red-Tailed Hawk.
